MEET THE TEAM
This week's quick fire Q+A is with Christine, Clinic Manager at Mt Eden. Christine joined the Haven team in Spring last year after relocating to New Zealand from South Africa. Christine has previously owned her own spa, worked as a trainer for a leading skincare supplier and managed the largest spa in Johannesburg with 52 treatment rooms (yes, 52! This is not typo).
1. Early Bird or Night Owl?
Definitely a night owl. I've never been great at getting up early.
2. Favourite Book
To be honest, I’m not a big reader. I’d rather spend time outdoors so you’re more likely to find me at the beach, kayaking, going for hikes or going on some sort of outdoors adventure.
3. On a Saturday night you'll find me...
Eating out! I really enjoy trying new styles of food and checking out new restaurants. Auckland has so many incredible restaurants so it’s always hard to decide which to try next.
4. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When someone intentionally offends someone in front of others.
5. Coffee or Tea?
Coffee could possibly be my most favourite thing in the world. It’s such a simple pleasure that I cannot be without. If I don’t watch myself, I can easily drink 5-6 cups a day.
6. What is your favourite go-to treatment for your own skin and why?
My skin always looks its best after an A-Zyme treatment. Since moving to NZ my skin has been breaking out a little bit so the combination or Retinol and Bromelain clears that up really quickly, and I LOVE that it is working on pigmentation at the same time, as well as helping me to tackle those first signs of ageing. Triple win!
7. Favourite skincare product and why…
Osmosis Purify Cleanser. It's an enzymatic cleanser so it is great for those extra breakouts I've been getting lately. Love how it smooths my skin but never leaves it feeling "stripped".
8. What is your life motto?
Don't be the child who stops learning. Be the adult who can't quit.
9. What’s the best piece of advice you have been given?
Know yourself. When you know who you, you can be authentic about your goals, your dreams, your standards and your convictions. Knowing yourself allows you to live your life with purpose and meaning.
10. Place you would most like to visit?
Switzerland. I would love to experience a white Christmas with a view of the mountains. Would love to go skiing there too.
11. Favourite movie of all time?
Little Miracles. I really love the moral of the story. It reminds us to always see the miracles in your life. No matter how hard it gets, there are always miracles present - you just need to notice them.
12. What do you love the most about your job?
Being able to boost a client’s confidence by changing their skin. I just love seeing the before and after pictures and seeing what an effect it has on their lives.
